Our Concepts and Vision
Old Dream, New Reality
Enthusiast Hydrogen™ Corporation was founded by inventor Brian Peck of Kansas City Missouri in 2023. He had investigated hydrogen since the early 2000’s for use in one of his inventions. He needed large amounts of hydrogen in a continuous feed - something that was not available. What small amounts of hydrogen were available could not be stored effectively and was extremely expensive. He shelved his project for about two decades but continued research and development on his ideas. Several technological, environmental, governmental, and societal movements came together just right in 2025 to push him forward with his hydrogen dreams.
Why Gold Hydrogen?
Gold hydrogen is a relatively new concept. For most of humanity’s chemistry teachings, naturally occurring hydrogen wasn’t supposed to be found on earth. It was thought that it was too reactive, has an affinity to combine with other atoms to form molecules, and if it was created, would rise into the atmosphere and be lost.
Recently, a small research team found a natural hydrogen vent in Albania that led to many studies of its source. It was determined that Serpentinization was occurring below an old chromium mine. In essence, hot rocks and water combine underground and release hydrogen into the surrounding area.
In 2025, the US government released a multi-year geologic study that confirmed these Serpentinization processes are occurring in very large amounts between 5 and 15 miles underground. It was determined that hydrogen may be stored in the geologic layers in certain areas of the planet. It is estimated that just 2% of these gases could power humanity for more than 300 years - if we can recover it.
Manmade processes to create hydrogen are very expensive, limited in amount, and mostly carbon based or carbon energy intensive. We believe that natural sources, if extracted in large quantities, could be world changing.
Locate It
The first step to accessing gold hydrogen is locating it. Most meaningful reserves are speculated to be in the Midwestern United States. We are focusing on areas in Missouri for data collection and site identification.
Hydrogen gas is hard to detect in free air and most current equipment is not meant for field use. Many of the areas targeted can span well over 1000 square miles in surface area. The large area satellite sampling alone is far too coarse for the best site identification.
Due to the costs of exploratory drilling, we believe surface emission detection technologies are critical first steps to locating the best extraction sites. Enthusiast Hydrogen™ Corporation is developing Long Distance Laser Absorption and Refractive Spectroscopy™ (LDLARS); our in house areal detection technology. Combined with LIDAR surface and GPS location mapping, our scanning technology is designed to be inexpensive to operate, accurate in data capture, and fast to analyze.
Get It
Since digging 15 miles into the earth is not possible with current technologies, Enthusiast Hydrogen™ Corporation investigated excimer geologic laser ablation technology in 2021. We found it insufficient for our intended use. New technologies borrowed from the radio broadcast and fusion industries are currently being engineered and developed for borehole drilling.
If sufficient depths are achieved, and hydrogen found, extraction and capture technologies will need to be developed. Many technologies from the petroleum oil and gas industry will carry into what we do, but hydrogen gas is a little different to work with, and natural hydrogen at large volumes has not been worked with before. Enthusiast Hydrogen™ Corporation continues to develop hydrogen gas centrifugal densification and a version of high efficiency electro-dialysis (HEED) for at well diffuse gas capture and separation.
We are also seeking partners for geologic and petroleum material recovery from our drilling sites.
Use It
The purity of gold hydrogen remains to be verified. It is hypothesized to be 20-70% purity. These purities typically are insufficient for most uses. Pure hydrogen gas by itself is valuable, as are many high value chemical feedstocks and preparations made from it.
Enthusiast Hydrogen™ Corporation aims to develop multiple at-well production processes for nitric acid, carbon capture to methanol, and hydrogen reformation to ammonia.
